Monel K500 Seamless Pipes is a nickel-copper alloy, precipitation hardenable through additions of aluminum and titanium. The increased properties of Monel K500 Welded Tubesa re obtained by adding aluminum and titanium to the nickel-copper base. By adding Aluminum and Titanium to Monel K500 EFW Pipes, followed by an age hardening process, this enhances the physical properties, giving the material greater strength and hardness. Resistance to hydrogen sulfide makes Monel K500 ERW Tubes useful in sour-gas environments making it extremely popular in the oil patch.
Aluminum and titanium additions, plus controlled heat treat cycles, are responsible for the added strength of Monel K500 Round Pipes. In age-hardened condition, Monel K500 Square Tubesalso has greater tendency toward stress- corrosion cracking in some environments. A useful characteristic of Monel K500 Rectangular Pipes is that it is virtually nonmagnetic, even at quite low temperatures. These Monel K500 Electropolish Tubes are obtained by adding aluminum and titanium to the nickel-copper base. Monel K500 Hexagonal Pipes is precipitation hardenable, due to the additions of Aluminium and Titanium. Monel K500 Hallow Tubesneeds to be turned and worked at slow speeds and low feed rates.
