Monel 400 Round Bars

Vivid Steel & Engineering Co. Ltd. supplies Monel 400 Round Bars, manufactured and supplied to internationally recognized specifications for demanding applications where corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and reliable performance are critical. Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy identified as UNS N04400, with excellent resistance to seawater, hydrofluoric acid, alkalies, and several chemical-processing environments. It is widely used for shafts, fasteners, valves, pumps, marine components, heat exchangers, chemical-processing equipment, and offshore applications.

Monel 400 Round Bar is a solid cylindrical bar produced from MONEL® Alloy 400, a nickel-copper alloy containing a minimum of approximately 63% nickel and 28–34% copper, with controlled quantities of iron, manganese, carbon, silicon and sulfur.

Cold Drawn Monel 400 Round Bar

Cold Drawn Monel 400 Round Bar

Cold drawing provides closer dimensional control and can improve surface finish and mechanical properties depending on the specified condition.

Annealed Monel 400 Round Bar

Annealed Monel 400 Round Bar

Annealed material provides a combination of ductility, toughness and machinability and is frequently selected for fabrication and forming operations.

Hot Rolled Monel 400 Round Bar

Hot Rolled Monel 400 Round Bar

Hot-rolled bars are produced at elevated temperatures and are commonly selected for structural, machining, forging and general engineering applications.

Bright / Cold Finished Monel 400 Round Bar

Bright / Cold Finished Monel 400 Round Bar

Bright bars provide a smoother surface and tighter dimensional control than conventional hot-finished material.

Forged Monel 400 Round Bar

Forged Monel 400 Round Bar

Forged bar is suitable for demanding components such as shafts, valve components, pump parts and other heavy-duty engineering applications.

Ground & Polished Monel 400 Bar

A direct comparison depends on the stainless-steel grade, temper and application. Monel 400 is primarily selected for its combination of corrosion resistance and mechanical properties in demanding environments rather than simply for maximum tensile strength.

Yes. Monel 400 offers excellent corrosion resistance in several environments, including seawater, hydrofluoric acid and alkaline media, although suitability must always be assessed against the actual chemical environment, concentration and temperature.

Round bar is a solid wrought product, so “seamless” is generally not the appropriate classification. Seamless/welded terminology is primarily applicable to Monel pipe and tube.

The published density is approximately 8.80 g/cm³

EN 1.4404 is a commonly associated European designation for 316L stainless steel. Exact requirements should be checked against the applicable EN product standard.

Monel K-500 is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-copper alloy designed for significantly higher strength and hardness while retaining much of the corrosion resistance associated with Monel 400.

MONEL R-405 is the free-machining version of MONEL 400, with controlled sulfur additions that improve chip breaking during machining. It is used for screw-machine products, meter components and fasteners.

Major applications include marine engineering, offshore engineering, chemical processing, hydrocarbon processing, oil & gas, valves, pumps, shafts, fittings, fasteners and heat exchangers
